FAQs
When do you host these events and what is the ideal number of people?
The new world meets the old classics works perfectly for numbers between 15 & 18 people.
These can be run any day from Monday through to Friday, although we can't offer them on Friday evenings.
Guests are invited to arrive at 12h30 for a 13h00 prompt start for Lunch or 18h30 for a 19h00 for dinner.
What is the format for the Old World Meets New Event?
Guests are greeted with a great Fizz on arrival and the formalities can start as soon as everyone has arrived.
The meal lasts around 1.5 hours during which your host will go through 5 wines with you, all paired to the meal. They will discuss food and wine pairings, facts about the growers and more.
How long does it last?
The Lunch takes around 3 hours from start to finish.
What does it cost (all prices are ex VAT)?
Our Standard Lunch is £ 250 per head with a minimum spend of £ 3,000.
Our Super Charged Lunch is £ 350 per head with a minimum spend of £ 4,000. This lunch offers even better than excellent wine choices. There is a £25 pp surcharge for dinner.
The above pricing includes the restaurant hire and us working with the chef to come up with the perfect menu and pairings for your event, accomodating all dietary requirements etc. It also includes a gift box with a beautiful bottle of wine carefully selected to come into its own 6 months after the event to be opened and enjoyed, reminding your guest of the great event they shared with you. This includes bespoke tasting notes.
For the Standard and Super Charged Lunch, this gift box will also contain a note from you, with your company tag line and logo. For the Super Charged event, the box can be branded.
Should you require a different venue, we will quote accordingly on a case by case basis.
Should you have a smaller budget, please speak to us about other options available to you.
Do I have to know much about wine to enjoy it?
Absolutely NOT! These are fun events, completely inclusive and often with a winegrower or a chef as well.
How do you plan this event for us?
Once the budget and date are finalised, and we have created a personalisedevent plan we do the following:
- We send out an agreement for signature and return
- We send out a non-refundable deposit invoice for 40% based on the number of
guests advised at the time of booking confirmation. The balance is invoiced out 2
weeks prior to the event and is payable 72 hours before the event.
- We share an attendee details list with you. This should be returned with everyone’s names and any special dietary requirements, at least 2 full weeks prior to the event for catering purposes.
Then we are all set to go!
